Care and Support

This page lists the ministries at First UMC where you can find care and support for yourself or others.

Congregational Care

Responding to God's call to care for one another, the First UMC faith family serves one another in a wide variety of efforts.

Visitation

This ministry provides visits by our pastors and laity to those who are homebound, hospitalized, or in a long-term care facility. We are currently standing up our Stephen Ministry and more details will be coming soon!

Support

Our support ministry focuses on those who are experiencing a low point in their lives and reminds them that they are loved and cared about. This ministry has many aspects such as sending cards, making phone calls, and  delivering or hosting meals.

Prayer

The prayer ministry prays faithfully over all prayer requests that are sent to the church along with providing prayer blankets.  Over the course of the year, the ministry team also prays specifically for each person in our faith family.
These ministries have a primary focus of caring for those in our community and around the world.

Support Groups

Support groups  provide a safe place for those who are journeying through grief, combating illness, going through divorce or separation, caring for family members, or experiencing any of life's challenges. We don't publicize the support groups that meet at First UMC, so please contact the support group directly.
